Class Two, two weeks later. 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm.
Full swing, 45 minutes. All four class participants work in their own practice station on the range. You’ll spend twenty minutes with an iron. Then twenty minutes with a driver or 3-wood.
The focus is narrow on purpose. Your setup, and the 9 to 3 Drill. Halfway back, halfway through, balanced the whole way.
Then we’ll help you layer the Shaft Extension Drill on top of the 9 to 3 Drill, repeating the same feelings of a golf swing you discovered in Class One. On a chip, it tells you gently. On a full swing it tells you loudly, because the most common thing that goes wrong in a new golfer’s swing is that the hands take over and throw the club away early. That resembles you casting a fishing pole, and it produces a weak, glancing blow after all that effort.
You can’t feel that happening. You can feel the stick.
Your coach works with all the class participants equally, so everyone receives the one-on-one attention all golfers need to enjoy the game more.
You finish up Class Two on the course. Starting with a short session covering golf etiquette, the rules you actually need, and the plain-language answer to “what is a tee box, a fairway, a bunker, a green.”
Then you play. Depending on availability that day, you will finish on one of our two championship courses, the National or the International, or on the Champs Par 3 Course, the short course alongside our practice facility. The Champs course is exactly the right size of golf for a first time out. Every hole is reachable and nothing about it is intimidating. Your coach will tell you where you are going before Class Two starts, not after.
Two teams of two, three holes, two-person scramble format. Nobody’s weaknesses get exposed. Nobody holds anybody up. And everyone has fun helping each other record their lowest score possible.
Your coach is there the entire time, helping you where needed and answering the situational questions that only come up when you are standing over a real shot with real trouble in front of you.
At the end of Class Two, you’ll turn in your scorecard, with one team winning a prize. And you will have played golf.
On the rare occasion that no golf course time is available at all, your coach may finish Class Two at Eagles Edge, the Toptracer range at ChampionsGate, where you will still hit real golf balls and still compete as a team. That is a last-minute substitution based on facility availability, not the plan. Your coach will tell you before Class Two starts, not after.
