What You Are Registering For
A Play Golf Now Beginner Golf Clinic is two 90-minute coaching classes held two weeks apart, from 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm, at Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate. The Clinic Dates selector above shows the exact dates for your clinic. Your registration covers both classes.
Class One: The Short Game
Forty-five minutes of putting across four ten-minute stations, including one-on-one instruction time with your coach, starting your putts on line, controlling distance, and reading a green. Then forty-five minutes of chipping across two twenty-minute stations, a short chip with a higher lofted club and a longer bump-and-run.
Class Two: Full Swing And On-Course Play
Forty-five minutes on the range with your own practice station. Twenty minutes with an iron, then twenty minutes with a driver or 3-wood, focused on your setup, the 9 to 3 Drill, and the Shaft Extension Drill carried forward from Class One. Then golf etiquette, the rules you actually need, and three holes played as a two-person scramble with your coach alongside you. Winning team takes a prize.
Included
Three hours of coaching at a four-to-one ratio, all practice balls and training aids, rental clubs at no charge when requested at checkout, three holes of on-course play, the Play Golf Now Student Handbook, and continuing education offers for every clinic graduate.
Who It Is For
True beginners and returning golfers, age 12 and up. Families may purchase all four spots for a private clinic, and that is the only circumstance in which a golfer under 12 can attend.

Clinics are coached by the John Hughes Golf Certified Coaching Team, each individually trained by John Hughes, PGA Master Professional of Instruction, on the curriculum he designed for this program.

Age Limit
Play Golf Now Beginner Golf Clinics are designed for golfers ages 12 and older. The only exception is when a family purchases all four available spots in a pre-scheduled or custom-dated clinic.
Pricing
A Play Golf Now Beginner Golf Clinic is $150 per golfer and includes both classes of that clinic.
Weather Policy And Instructor Absence
All clinic classes will be conducted unless lightning, heavy rain, or another unsafe situation is in effect. It is at the coach’s discretion to determine whether there is an unsafe condition and whether to hold a class or clinic. In the event of light rain, the class or clinic will be conducted.
If weather, an unsafe condition, or another situation deemed by the coach to warrant rescheduling occurs:
- The class is rescheduled to the following week, or the week after the other scheduled class, if our coaching calendar allows.
- If the class can be rescheduled but a golfer cannot attend, a credit toward future classes or a private lesson may be offered, at the coach’s discretion.
- If the class cannot be rescheduled, the coach and the company may schedule the clinic dates as a one-class, one-day event, or provide a credit to attend a future clinic.
- Halfway through a weather issue – If a class makes it halfway through the scheduled time when weather or another unsafe condition occurs, any time lost will be added to the next class.
- Weather delay – At the discretion of the coach, a start time can be delayed to allow weather or another unsafe condition to pass. The coach makes this determination the day of the class.
- If a delay is less than 30 minutes, the class is delayed until it can start safely, with no reschedule options available should a golfer need to leave prior to completion.
- If a delay is 30 to 60 minutes and a golfer has to leave before the conclusion, weather cancellation policies are in effect.
- If a delay is anticipated to last more than 60 minutes, the standard weather cancellation policies are in effect.
No Shows And Cancellations
If a golfer does not attend a class without first notifying their coach of not being able to attend, the golfer will be deemed a no-show and forfeits the fees and time associated with the class they missed.
- Cancellation of a clinic, or of a class within a clinic, requires 72 hours’ notice prior to the start of the first class of that clinic. Failure to provide at least 72 hours’ notice results in forfeiture of the entire clinic fee.
- Should a golfer need to miss either of the two classes and has provided proper notice to avoid forfeiture, at the coach’s discretion the golfer may:
- Receive a credit toward making up that specific class during another scheduled clinic date, subject to availability. This credit must be used within three months of being issued.
- Receive a monetary credit toward a private coaching session to make up for the missed content.
Refunds
Full refund: cancellation notice provided at least 72 hours prior to the class start date and time.
60% refund: cancellation between 48 and 72 hours of the class start date and time.
25% refund: cancellation inside 48 hours of the class start date and time.
Refunds are not provided for classes delayed or rescheduled due to acts of nature, unsafe conditions, changes to the golf facility’s maintenance schedule, or emergencies.
Equipment
Rental clubs are supplied at no additional charge when requested prior to the start of a class or clinic. Requests made at registration are guaranteed. Requests made less than 72 hours before a class cannot be guaranteed, and left-handed sets in particular are subject to availability.
Location And On-Course Play
Clinics are held at Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate. On-course play during the second class takes place on the National Course, the International Course, or the Champs Par 3 Course, as available, and is subject to golf course availability, course conditions, and the resort maintenance schedule. When no on-course play is available, the coach may conduct the balance of the class at Eagles Edge at ChampionsGate, subject to availability, or at the practice facility. Substitution of venue does not reduce the coaching time provided and does not constitute grounds for a refund.
Gift Certificates
Standard John Hughes Golf gift certificate terms and conditions, as published at johnhughesgolf.com, apply to every gift certificate purchased for a Play Golf Now Beginner Golf Clinic. The following conditions apply in addition and are specific to this program.
A Play Golf Now Beginner Golf Clinic gift certificate does not expire, in accordance with Florida Statute 501.95.
The certificate is redeemable for any regularly scheduled Play Golf Now Beginner Golf Clinic. Its value may alternatively be applied to any other John Hughes Golf coaching program or service.
Play Golf Now Beginner Golf Clinics are scheduled once per calendar month and are limited to four golfers per clinic. Unlike our on-demand coaching programs, additional clinic dates cannot be created on request. We therefore ask that the recipient register for their intended clinic date at least one month in advance.
All registrations are subject to availability. A clinic closes once four golfers are registered, and earlier registration is the only way to secure a preferred month.
Florida Group Ventures CMM, Inc./John Hughes Golf reserves the right to reschedule a gift certificate holder to another program date in order to accommodate a group purchase of three or more spots in a single clinic. Where necessary, we will provide as much advance notice as reasonably possible and offer alternative dates. If no alternative date works for the certificate holder, a full refund of the certificate value will be provided.
