2023 has been another banner year for me and John Hughes Golf team. Our clients succeeded in achieving great things around the globe. And I was named North Florida PGA Section Teacher/Coach of the Year. And was recently named to the Golf Digest Magazine “Best in State” list. 2 trips to McLemore were highly successful. And 2024 is already looking like it could top the achievements of 2023. For the entire JHG family, the 2023 holiday news couldn’t be better. Or could it? That is why I am writing this additional blog post for the month of December, 2023. This 2023 Holiday News post is being sent to clients of John Hughes Golf only. So you can appreciate how this holiday season is better for us all. Please do not share this blog with friends. The pass code was provided to you as a current or past client of John Hughes Golf. It’s a private post because some of the information contained within the post will be announced by other parties very shortly. McLemore Each time I visited McLemore in 2023, the facility, its members and staff, as well as its future, became more interesting to me. So much so, that several opportunities have opened there for me and you. Worth sharing with you within this 2023 Holiday News post. McLemore Golf Schools First, I’m excited to announce that there are now group and private golf schools scheduled at McLemore for you to experience in 2024. The group schools are scheduled Fridays through Sundays and are limited to a 3-to-1 ratio. Some include the opportunity to see one of McLemore’s Singer/Songwriter Concert Series of events. While others are scheduled in coordination with other special events. You can see the scheduled dates and register for a program by visiting this link. Private Golf School programs you can schedule as you do now with me, for the exact dates you choose. These are limited to 1-to-1 programs. And you can schedule 1 day or more days. Each time I’d visit, the ownership enticed me to make McLemore my permanent home. Knowing how many clients in Florida are so loyal as well as me not being able to adapt or like the cold of winter any longer, I was able to come to an agreement with McLemore to serve as their Director of Instruction. I’ll begin my stay at McLemore in late April and return to the Orlando area for the winter months in late October to early November. Simply put, I could not permanently leave you and Florida. For many reasons. I do plan to continue to serve you in the Orlando area. And am currently working on a schedule to allow you to book coaching sessions with me during those months. By the end of the year, you’ll receive a schedule of when I’ll be in Orlando and when you can schedule coaching with me in Florida. Also, by the end of the year, I’ll contact each individual active client about their existing program. And how priority scheduling will work for them when I’m in Florida. As well as share opportunities to visit McLemore and continue your golf improvement. News about Orlando Coaching Programs Knowing I will not always be in Orlando in 2024, it’s important to me that I serve all my clients in the area with increased care and availability. I’m making plans for that as you read this blog post. The past several months, I’ve taken a deep dive into what programs golfers really want. To find out what works and what is not. Eliminating the programs no one wants. Your Favorite, with a Twist Your favorite program is Custom Coaching in 5-hour blocks. I’m happy to report that this program will remain and become a feature program for existing clientele only. If you’re currently a 5-hour client, you can remain a 5-hour client for as long as you’d like. Locked in at the rate at which you started. If you’re a lapsed 5-hour client and want to get back in the coaching schedule, you’ll need to do so before December 31, 2023. Why will 5-hours for new clients go away? Simple. To better serve you. To do so, I must limit the number of new clients I accept. Through the research, eliminating hourly lessons and other “entry level” programs does just that. A New Beginning Starting January 1, 2024, new private clients in Florida will go through an acceptance process. The process is: A 2-Hour Skill Evaluation – This will be the entry point to other private coaching programs, except golf schools. The 2-hour evaluation will include time on the course and at the practice area taking a deep dive into a golfer’s current abilities and skills. At the end of the 2 hours, the golfer will have a full report as to what areas of their game they should be focusing upon. As well as options to become a client. Minimum 10-Hour Custom Coaching – To become a regular client of John Hughes Golf in 2024 in Florida, a golfer will need to commit to a minimum of 10-hours or more of custom coaching. This allows me: to better balance my schedule, to provide existing clients the opportunity to schedule with more flexibility and in turn, limit the number of clients I serve. If you have friends who have expressed an interest in me becoming their golf coach and were considering a 5-hour program, please let them know it’s imperative they contact me and schedule with me before December 31, 2023, before the 5-hour option goes away for new clients. Golf Fitness Coach Recently, Jacob Glassmeyer moved to Houston, Texas for a fantastic opportunity. Jacob had become a friend and a coach to me and my clients. I wish all the best to Jacob as he continues his journeys as a person and professional. I’m searching for an “Adjunct Fitness Coach” to help serve all JHG clients.
