Everything There is to Know about Tackling The Highlands Course at McLemore Resort Nestled amidst the scenic beauty of Lookout Mountain in the heart of the Southeastern United States lies a hidden gem for golf enthusiasts – McLemore Golf Course. Renowned for its breathtaking views, challenging layout, and impeccable design, The Highlands Course at McLemore Resort offers seasoned golfers and novices alike an experience like no other. A Brief History It has taken nearly 30 years to assemble what is now a Top 100 Golf Course, as ranked by Golf Digest Magazine. Construction of Tauqueta Falls Golf Club began in 1995.  Due to its remote location and rugged terrain, it took several ownership groups 10 years to complete golf course architect Rick Robbins’ original design.  And when it finally opened to members and guests in June of 2005, a new name was unveiled, Canyon Ridge Golf Club. From 2005 to 2017, Canyon Ridge Golf Club had its ups and downs, both literally and figuratively.  A private gated community of members kept the facility alive during this time, only to see it decay. Knowing the course layout was something special, Scenic Land Company of Chattanooga, Tennessee acquired the entire development in 2017. Immediately, visionary and renowned golf course architect Rees Jones, along with golf course designer Bill Bergin, were named architects of record to redesign and renovate the tiring layout.
